Morrie Erickson

Morrie started our company in 1980 and has been President ever since.  As an attorney licensed in Indiana, he drafts our legal documents and oversees our overall operations.  Also, he is licensed as an Indiana Title Insurance Producer, Indiana real estate broker, and as a Certified Instructor for real estate training in Indiana and Kentucky.  Morrie has two IU degrees, including a J.D. from the IU-Bloomington School of Law.  He is a member of the Indiana and American Bar Associations, Federation of Exchange Accommodators, Indiana and American Land Title Associations, and Indiana and National Association of Realtors®.  Morrie is past President of the Monroe County Board of Zoning Appeals and both past and present member of ILTA’s Board of Governors.  Experienced in tax-deferred exchanges, he has qualified as a Certified Exchange Specialist® and frequently acts as a qualified intermediary and exchange accommodation titleholder in forward and reverse 1031 exchanges via our sister company, 1031 Exchange Co., Inc.  Morrie is a frequent presenter at professional seminars on subjects ranging from 1031 exchanges to title insurance and is the author of Buying & Selling a House in Indiana – A Lawyer’s Practical Tips which is available via Amazon.com.

Lisa Hoover

Lisa was our first employee, has been with us since 1985, and is corporate Vice President. She focuses on examination of title searches and documents and prepares title insurance commitments for both commercial and residential transactions. Lisa also gives quotes and pricing for stand-alone searches, title premiums, and title services fees. She works in our Auto Mall Road office, is a licensed title insurance producer, and is a former member of the Indiana Land Title Association Board of Governors, remaining active on various ILTA committees. If she’s not pouring over documents or plotting legal descriptions, she’ll be fielding questions or generating commitments.

Mandi Eaton

image 3

Mandi joined the company in 1995, serving in a variety of positions before becoming a closer before the end of 1999. She heads up our Auto Mall Road closing department and, of course, is licensed as an Indiana title insurance producer. Mandi’s experience ranges from residential to commercial. On the residential side, she has focused on and made presentations about the major overhaul to RESPA which took effect on January 1, 2010. Most of Mandi’s closings are in-office, table-signings – along with the occasional e-signing – but she also coordinates long-distance settlements when one or both parties don’t attend.

Nina Walls

Nina has been a part of the company since 2001, leaving the paralegal world for real estate. She is a Jill-of-all-trades, her efforts running the gamut from title examinations to closings, mostly with a residential focus. Now working at our Auto Mall Road location, Nina is licensed by the State of Indiana as a title insurance producer and, as such, can quote title insurance premiums and related fees, including title services. A Monroe County native, Nina has served two terms as Township Assessor/Trustee for Washington Township, from which she happily retired at the end of 2006. But at TitlePlus!, Nina works on.

Heather Teske

image 3

Heather is another Monroe County native and is our company bookkeeper at Auto Mall Road. In addition to balancing the books of both TitlePlus! and 1031 Exchange Co., Inc., she also reconciles firm trust accounts, the settlement escrow account, and the 1031 exchange custodial trust account. Because most title agency audits start with funding and agency accounting matters, she is the focal point for title underwriters’ auditors, who track incoming and outgoing funds, monitor bank account reconciliations, and verify premium remittances. If an eye for detail is critical in the world of accounting (and it is), then Heather ranks right at the top.

Amber Hollars

image 3

Amber grew up in Monroe County and is firmly entrenched as receptionist at Auto Mall Road, but to think that’s her only role misses the point entirely. In addition to greeting clients and fielding in-coming calls, she handles the mail, opens new files, posts SureClose® (our online, transaction management software), orders supplies, coordinates property profiles, schedules closings, prioritizes title searches, and issues title insurance policies (she’s a licensed title insurance producer, of course). Put another way, Amber is the point person for our company and juggles more balls – and different types of balls – than anyone else.

Sam VanDeventer

Samaritan is a closing assistant and handles our post-closing coordination and archiving. A Monroe County native, she was graduated from Bloomington High School South in 2004 and from Ivy Tech in 2010. Sam – that's what we call her – started working with us in 2004, and got her start in post-closing and archiving in 2007. Prior to that, Sam was our courier and courthouse documents filer. If you can't find a document from your closing or title insurance transaction, feel free to give Sam a call.

Allyson Sivalls

image 3

Allyson is one of our two couriers and post-closing document filers.  Hailing from New Jersey just a stone's throw from Manhattan, Allyson visited the IU campus to see a friend and the rest, as they say, is history.  She's studying Management in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, has been honored for academic achievement, and expects to graduate in 2014.  Because Allyson has her eye on law school, she's a perfect fit for processing legal documents at the various county offices.  Allyson worked throughout high school in a variety of positions, including food service and managing other employees.  Be sure to tell her hello when you see her – she'll answer to either Allyson or Ally.

Kelly Sheridan

Kelly is one of our two couriers and post-closing document filers.  From Indianapolis, she is majoring in Biology at IU, has received academic honors, and intends to go to medical school.  She is working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in 2013.  Kelly has extensive experience as a volunteer, most significantly in Honduras, where she joined others extending medical care to rural residents.  Not one to be inactive, Kelly has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, RISE/Middle Way House, and the Cathedral Soup Kitchen.  In addition to all that, Kelly speaks Spanish.  So, next time you see her out and about, tell her Buenas dias!
